Before marrying Tan Linqing, Feng You was the most insignificant stepdaughter in the Shen family. Overlooked and ignored, she drifted on the fringes of all the noise, solitary and gloomy, as quiet as a wisp of mist, a faint shadow that might shatter at a touch.
Tan Linqing, meanwhile, had stood at the very top of the pyramid since birth, close enough to reach the heavens, looking down on all things. Blessed with a handsome face and elegant bearing, he was nevertheless unfathomably shrewd, a jade-faced Asura famed throughout the business world.
"He's so pure and noble that even longing for him feels like a sin."
In the eyes of outsiders, their status and position were worlds apart.
What they didn't know was that the untouchable snow on a clear mountain stream they so admired had been profaned for weeks by the information synced from his new wife's notes app:
"Tan Linqing's lips look so soft, but the color is too pale. I want to rub them red with my fingertips."
"The tie Tan Linqing wore today is such a pretty color. It would go so well with my pink rex rabbit fur handcuffs. I want to use them on him together."
"Why does Tan Linqing have to be so tall? My neck gets so sore every time I tilt my head to kiss him. I want to step on him and make him kneel at my feet, beneath my skirt."
"..."

In Feng You's eyes, Tan Linqing was the ideal model of a perfect husband.
Though there was no foundation of affection between them, he was considerate and attentive in everything, careful down to the smallest detail. He was nothing like the cold and passionless man of the rumors, and seemed almost ready to grant her every request.
"Whatever you want, just ask me. That includes me, too. If you need me."
Feng You lowered her eyes and asked with pursed lips, "Then is there anything you need me to do for you?"
The man before her stood firm and imposing, his clear, deep-black eyes gazing straight into her heart. His voice was low, steady, and resonant.
"No. I have no demands of you."
Later, those words gradually became reality, from the smallest details of their daily meals to their bed.
Through nights spent entwined together, unable to sleep,
Feng You could never figure out how her marriage-of-convenience husband could be so perfectly in sync with her in bed, as though he knew every unspoken desire and thought she had.
Until one day.
The man studied the blush-inducing, wildly explicit things she had casually written down in her notes app, his handsome brows drawn in earnest concentration. Then, with meticulous care, he guided her hand and slowly put every one of them into practice on himself.
Feng You's breath nearly caught in the sultry heat as she fell apart, inch by inch.
"No, this is too embarrassing!"
But a pair of long, strong hands seized her ankles. With effortless strength, he pulled her back into his arms. His heavy, heated breath enveloped her as he kissed her trembling lashes.
"Youyou, who taught you that you could use your husband and then toss him aside?"
Later still,
she grew more and more brazen, playfully riding him like a proud steed she had tamed. Tan Linqing only smiled, indulgent and helpless.
"Honey, I said you could play with me however you like, not play me to death."
3.
Tan Linqing had a happy, loving family growing up, but he was cold by nature and built himself a lonely tower.
When he met Feng You again years later, he was surprised to find that the vibrant, passionate girl in his memories had somehow become averse to light and fond of shade, keeping her distance from people.
It was all right.
He would personally nurture this droopy little patch of moss again, until she returned to her bright, radiant self.
