How Could an Ordinary Bystander Get a Script to Save the World in an Infinite-Flow Story?

As an utterly ordinary passerby in the Detective Conan world, Tsurumi Mirai figured that, aside from having a slightly less fortunate childhood than most, his modest life was pretty comfortable. He had the standard-issue ordinary passerby role locked down.

Who could have guessed that one day, seven years before the first year of the Detective Conan era, the world would collapse and a pure-white space would appear before him?

Hello? Did you give the wrong person this outdated infinite-worlds scenario?

Hello? Did you send me these two ridiculously good-looking childhood friends as a buy-one-get-one deal by mistake?

Hello? Are you sure these five gorillas are really my friends?

Guided by humanitarian compassion and concern, Tsurumi learned that every one of his friends was headed for a bad ending. So he picked up the infinite-worlds script and raced around saving them, becoming the least ordinary ordinary passerby in the Detective Conan world.

But there was one thing he couldn't figure out:

Why had he snatched all his friends' death flags, only to end up with even more of his own?

He heads out to investigate a case and gets wiped out by the enemy. He goes for a walk and gets silently knifed by the enemy. He visits a student he tutors and the student puts a gun to his head and nearly kills him… Does the Detective Conan world have some kind of prejudice against people from anime? Do anime characters have to die every time they step outside?

At this rate, his Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon, Evil Eye of the Dark Lord, Wings of the Grim Reaper, Stand powers, Laevateinn, and all his other hidden talents are going to burst out of storage!

After playing through a series of routes called "Laughing and Chattering Our Way to a Game Over," Tsurumi Mirai gazed with satisfaction at the five people standing before him, safe and sound. He slowly closed his eyes and fell silent in his hospital bed.

Then, a pure-white space appeared before the five of them, one Tsurumi knew all too well.

And so...

I'm done being the protagonist, Tsurumi!

The others picked up the infinite-worlds rescue script Tsurumi Mirai had left behind. Turning the tables, they worked hard to save him instead.

Pure-White Space: Once again, two groups of children of the Detective Conan world are working for the sake of the world.

Absolutely no romance, strictly friendship.

There will be jokes and references from other anime and fandoms. Isn't this just another kind of crossover? (lights cigarette)

Some degree of out-of-character behavior.

No forums, no comments, no System, no secret identities.

Neither the strongest fighter, the smartest, nor the most socially adept.

There will be a fake-alcohol plotline later on (I think he's having a great time with it, actually (gets hit)).

He's genuinely awful while undercover as a bad guy. If that bothers you, don't read.

Upcoming novel synopsis

Kono Hayatsuei is a rookie photographer appointed by the Main World. His eyes are his camera, and his job is to photograph protagonists and important supporting characters in various worlds.

As a new hire, he believes he has the most professional work ethic and would never quit or complain halfway through a task just because it was too difficult.

That is, if this 996 System would give him normal assignments!!!

Faced with hundreds of tasks waiting for him in his assignment list, the man scrolls through increasingly outrageous requests and falls into deep thought.

Task One:

[Follow Koro-sensei and film him flying from the classroom across the Pacific to buy milk tea]

You said he was flying… How exactly do you expect a penniless photographer to catch up with him?

Task Two:

[Film Gintoki picking his nose from close range, from start to finish]

Ugh, do viewers really like watching this?

Task Three:

[Film Gojo Satoru's Domain Expansion up close, including a whole series of shots of him snuggling with a Special Grade Cursed Spirit]

Why do they want a close-up shot like this!! Won't the strongest guy kill him on the spot? He will, right? Right? He absolutely will, won't he?!

Task Four:

[Approach the three members of the Stray Dogs from a distance, then take a close-up portrait of each one]

Killing him one at a time isn't enough for you? Now you want to watch him get beaten up by all of them, right???

Hearing Hayatsuei's wailing, the 996 System remains unmoved, and even pours fuel on the fire.

"Dear, if you die while taking pictures, we're not responsible."

From then on, a student with speed nearly on par with Koro-sensei appears at Kunugigaoka Junior High; a wandering ninja as powerful as a Kage shows up in the Hidden Leaf Village; a once-in-a-thousand-years prodigy with an incredibly powerful technique emerges in the jujutsu world; and a young executive joins the mafia boss's ranks, spending all day pestering the trio around Dazai…

Hayatsuei thought getting stronger would make things better. Now he watches another fist fly into his face.

"Didn't we agree that photographers don't get hit?!"

Of course, Hayatsuei knows nothing about any of this. After all, he's just a 996 wage slave being forced to work hard.
