The Spoiled Young Lord Won't Leave Me Alone

When the heir discovers that the servant boy he picked up can hold his own in a formal setting, cook up a storm, shield him from wind and rain, fend off lovesick men and women, and sort out every kind of trouble, he can't get enough of him and takes him everywhere.

The servant boy can't stand being treated like a slave, expected to be at his beck and call around the clock. He slaps away the heir's wandering hand and points at the spoiled young master in fury. "I'm done repaying you for saving my life! I want to go home, live like a lord, and start a family and career!"

Start a family? The heir furrows his brow and immediately orders, "Send my petition to the capital at once."

A month later, the emperor's reply arrives at the heir's residence on the distant frontier, carried at full gallop. The heir reads it, his face darkens, and he flings the document aside, cursing treasonously, "Damn that dog of an emperor!"

The servant boy enters with tea and gets hit squarely by the document. He picks it up and sees the words: "Our dynasty's laws do not allow a man to take a male consort. Find someone else."

The servant boy is stunned. Is this guy serious?
