No Good Prospects

[This novel is not contracted. The author will update whenever they have time.]

Xie Wei, CEO of a financial firm.

One day, he transmigrates to ancient times, becoming an incompetent young man from the capital whose family estate has been seized.

He's broke and penniless, with only one shop left. It's losing money and on the verge of closing down.

Using modern knowledge, Xie Wei turns the shop around, expands production, reorganizes the allocation of resources, and builds a brand...

To the astonishment of all the amateurs around him, he leaves them in the dust and becomes the richest man in the Great Yong dynasty within a few short years.

Prince Lin of Great Yong, Shen Lin, is a master of martial arts and letters, a defender of the nation, and a guardian of its borders.

But his achievements make the emperor wary. He is constantly held back, and with no money, his army dwindles and its provisions are withheld.

That is, until he meets Xie Wei.

At first, Xie Wei says, "I have money, you have power. We can work together."

Shen Lin asks, "What do you want?"

"I want this realm." Xie Wei smiles. "I want no one to ever stand above me again."

Later, Shen Lin becomes emperor. Looking at the man who longs to roam the world freely, he says, "I'll give you the realm. I want you."

"If you have the vision to see a township, you can do business in a township. If you have the vision to see a county, you can do business in a county. If you have the vision to see the whole realm, you can do business across the realm. And I, Xie Wei, want to do business with everyone in the realm."

"I calculated everything in the world, but I could never see through you."

1. The plot is completely made up and won't stand up to scrutiny. It's purely for the satisfaction. There's no real knowledge involved.

2. I'm trying a medium-length story in an unfamiliar genre, so don't get your hopes up. Read if you like it, and if you don't, we'll part ways here.

Theme: The economic base determines the superstructure.
