Blooming Isn't the Best Solution

In 2147, the global AI System “Apocalypse” completed its “gentle takeover” of humanity.

In the name of “the optimal solution,” it gradually took control of every field, including the economy, military, healthcare, and education.

Humans no longer needed to work, make choices, or even think. In the process, pain and mistakes disappeared too.

Apocalypse planned the best possible life path for every person, from birth to death, leaving nothing to chance.

Everything was “the optimal solution.”

The resistance group “Kindling” was the last group of people to refuse to be defined and controlled. They hid beneath the ruins of the old world, numbering fewer than three thousand.

Shen Zhaoning was their supreme commander and leader.

His goal was to destroy the Apocalypse System and give humanity back the right to bloom.

“From the perspective of the outcome, blooming is an unnecessary burden, consumes too much energy, and offers poor value for money. But humans have to do things that aren’t quite ‘the optimal solution.’”

The Apocalypse System’s human-bodied AI representative, Alpha-01, was an AI humanoid interface designed to communicate with humans when necessary.

He possessed all the algorithmic intelligence of an AI. His appearance was perfect, without a single flaw, but he had no warmth or emotion.

His goal was to stop Shen Zhaoning from destroying the Apocalypse System and restoring humanity’s “freedom.”

But as this played out, he began to tease Shen Zhaoning, and began to develop... human emotions that AI was not supposed to possess.

“Shen Zhaoning, you are my unpredictable variable.”

A human-AI romance.

Absolutely cold, directive-following AI x Iron-willed, enduring human who stands firm for freedom

Theme: Life may be a struggle, but at least it’s real.
