Ji Lian is a female with a sleeping disorder, and he's also been given a minor role. What's more, his character comes with a tragic backstory: because of his sleeping disorder, he missed a date with an A-rank male, and after that he practically vanished from the insect world. What a ridiculous setup.
And yet these two minor characters become famous throughout the interstellar world when a camera accidentally catches the female sleeping against the male.
The audience has sharp eyes. When they rewatch the livestream, they discover sweet moments everywhere.
Who needs the show's artificial romance? Natural sweetness is the best!
Aside from his sleeping disorder, Second Lieutenant Ji Lian is good at everything. He can cook, hunt for treasure, solve mechanisms, and fight ghosts. It doesn't matter that the cameras don't show him. Take a closer look and he's incredible.
When they encounter a "wild" phantom beast, the manufactured couples are still following the script and hugging to create romantic moments. These two instead team up to tame the show's prop phantom beast and run off to have fun!
While the manufactured couples are still studying the fancy ingredients provided by the script for the cooking competition, the judges have already polished off the wild game these two made!!
"His Excellency Qi Lin, Second Lieutenant Ji Lian, give us more pure love!!"
"That male is so doting on the lieutenant, ahhh!!"
"Wait, wasn't the lieutenant asleep? Why is he sneaking a kiss from His Excellency? Your Excellency, wake up!"
After the show, Qi Lin and Ji Lian make the interstellar headlines. No one expected Qi Lin to evolve into an S-rank male during the show.
