The Empress's Tutor Keeps Trying to Run Away

Liu Yuxiu entered the court at fourteen and became chancellor at sixteen, a legendary figure in everyone’s eyes. To help the new emperor mature quickly, she took a dangerous gamble and let all the blame fall on her, hoping to step down once her mission was accomplished. In the end, though, she still couldn’t set the girl straight.

Li Nanzheng was an unloved princess who became empress through a twist of fate. She had always relied on Grand Tutor Liu, but after her ascension, the grand tutor became chancellor. Everyone said Chancellor Liu monopolized power and had no respect for her, and so she turned dark.

Before learning the truth

Li Nanzheng: “My dear subject, do you think you can make decisions on my behalf now?”

Liu Yuxiu: “I believe Your Majesty is not yet ready to rule in your own right.”

After learning the truth

Li Nanzheng clung to her tightly. “You heartless, wicked woman! How could you deceive me like this? You even planned to leave me behind! I’ll bite you to death!”

Liu Yuxiu sighed helplessly. “All right, all right. I was wrong. I won’t leave.”
