The Inflexible Rules of the Heartless Dao

1.

The master of the Xiaoyao Sect cultivated the Heartless Path and ascended in a single day. His junior disciple, Shen Junheng, inherited his position as sect master.

On the night before the inauguration ceremony, she had an absurd dream.

In the dream, after their master ascended, her senior brother switched to the Heartless Path, met his true love by chance, and spent years tangled up with them before breaking his Dao and becoming useless.

In the dream, after their master ascended, her senior sister switched to the Heartless Path, fell for someone, then sank into despair over unrequited love, breaking her Dao and becoming useless.

And her junior martial uncle, who already specialized in the Heartless Path... didn't even need to switch paths. He fell for someone, loved and fought his true love, then broke his Dao and fell into demonic ways, turning the whole sect into a wreck!

Shen Junheng woke from the dream in a cold sweat. The next day, at the inauguration ceremony, Shen Junheng made her first move as the new sect master.

No one under the Xiaoyao Sect may cultivate the Heartless Path!

2.

Li Guiyan, the Heavenly Dao, is heartless and cruel. He loves nothing more than meddling with mortal destinies and taking pleasure in their suffering.

Those who yearn for love are made forever incapable of being loved, while those who reject love are made to suffer for it. The more mortals suffer, the more tumultuous their lives become.

Until one day, Li Guiyan suddenly discovers an unexpected variable in his script. How can that be allowed?

He decides to disguise himself as a mortal and infiltrate the Xiaoyao Sword Sect, using love to eliminate the sudden anomaly.

"Sect Master, if I don't cultivate the Heartless Path, can I find someone in the sect to cultivate dual cultivation with?"

"Yes."

"Then can I cultivate dual cultivation with the Sect Master?"

"No."
