My Red Faction Patron Is Still Missing

Hamaguchi Hideshi, an ordinary student at the University of Tokyo, had a good plan for his future.

He would finish his four years of college, then attend police academy, follow in the footsteps of his benefactor, Mr. Furuya, and become a proud police officer.

But his plan went awry when he was only halfway through his first year. He encountered a major crisis in life: his benefactor had disappeared.

He staked out the entrance to the police station for a week and nearly got arrested as a suspect. Then he followed his benefactor's friends, but still came up empty-handed.

At last, he spotted his benefactor at the bar where he worked part-time, apparently making his way ever deeper into the underworld.

Hamaguchi Hideshi: I get it now. From today on, my goal is no longer to become a police cadet, but to be the underworld's best right-hand man. Mr. Furuya, wait for me. Whether you're a police academy traitor or an undercover agent, I'll show you that I'll follow you!

Two years later, Zero Furuya, under the alias Bourbon, went to meet a senior member of Tokyo's largest underground intelligence organization, Night Raid.

Zero Furuya: Shouldn't the kid I sponsored be graduating from college and working hard to become a productive member of society?!

Hamaguchi Hideshi: Mr. Furuya, I'm really useful now! I didn't just take over Night Raid, the cleanup crew organization, I also turned it into the biggest intelligence organization. You're now the mastermind behind Night Raid!

Highlights:

1. Pairing: Toko. The author only supports Zero. Apart from the Toko pairing and canon pairings, there are no other pairings in the story.

2. The male lead is a neutral party, but a Furuya loyalist. He doesn't have much of a conscience, but because of Zero Furuya, most of his actions are law-abiding.

Theme: Always repay those who have helped you
