After My Best Friend and I Took Our Dorm to a Deserted Island for a Livestream

Chu Zhishi is an utterly ordinary fifteen-year-old girl.

During the last summer vacation before high school, Chu Zhishi and her best friends are "packed off" to summer camp by their parents.

It's the first time in her life she's lived at school. Chu Zhishi struggles to fall asleep in a dorm without air conditioning.

When she opens her eyes again, she finds herself on an island.

Along with her come her five best friends and two dorm buildings, one for boys and one for girls, both with private bathrooms.

Chu Zhishi stays calm and immediately reassures her friends: "Don't panic, this is nothing. My mom's been teaching me how to survive on a deserted island ever since I started kindergarten!"

She doesn't know why, but her parents seem more concerned about her wilderness survival skills than her grades.

But her best friends don't look panicked at all. If anything, they seem... excited?

"No way! I thought my parents were the only ones like this!"

"Me too. My mom secretly takes me to train for a triathlon every year!"

"My dad makes me keep a survival kit in my backpack at all times!"

"I learned 22 different knots when I was six!"

"I packed enough first-aid supplies for six people, plus three days' worth of compressed biscuits..."

Chu Zhishi: ???

Wait...

They've known each other for fifteen years, and it turns out every one of her best friends has been hiding their identity as a survival expert?!

--

Fishing and hunting, storing food, finding fresh water, keeping a fire going, building shelters...

On an island rich in natural resources, Chu Zhishi gets to lie flat while her teammates carry her.

But Chu Zhishi and the others soon discover:

There are traces of people from different eras on the island.

A mysterious door has appeared out of nowhere in their dorm.

Even stranger, except when they go to the bathroom, everyone feels like they're being watched all the time.

Then, a long string of livestream comments suddenly drifts across Chu Zhishi's vision:

[Go, Cheese Squad! Hang in there for five more days and you'll make it to the final round!]

[This generation of best friends doesn't look as tough as their parents?]

[I'll bet fifty cents that the Cheese Squad is having abalone, crab, and grouper for dinner again tonight!]

[The prize pool is over 500 million this year. I wonder if this generation of best friends has a chance?]

Chu Zhishi: 500 million?!
