A collection of various short stories
Story One:
"Who are you?"
"My surname is Zhang. Zhang Chenghe, the moat outside the Bronze Gate."
Story Two:
"My surname is Zhang, and my name is Zhang Yunnuo. You can also call me Yinuo, as in a promise worth a thousand gold pieces. I once held the position of Zhang Qiling, clan leader of the Zhang family, but I was later stripped of the title."
Story Three:
I think I took something that belonged to someone else. Here, I have no past or future. I don't think I belong here. My name is General. That's the only thing I remember.
Story Four:
If you could transmigrate into a book, which book would you choose? If you had already transmigrated into a book, who would you hope to meet first? If you could reset, would you choose to keep going or reset when faced with danger?
That's right, Xiaoxiao not only transmigrated into a book, but also met Xiao Ge and reset!
Story Five:
A golden tomb, a beauty's grave, wild sand filling the sky, and the missing never return.
Story Six:
Ding, ding, ding! This is trouble, this is trouble! I've hit a wall, I've hit a wall! I can't think of anything, I can't think of anything! Let's just ship this pairing!
Story Seven:
Mu Jin, who is always traveling through ghostly tombs, runs into Wu Xie and the others after they get trapped by accident.
This time, she doesn't have to think or do everything herself. Let's form an alliance!
Come on, my friends. Let's mess with the other side together.
Story Eight:
I, Cha Xiaohei, a black cat who specializes in devouring spirits, have actually been lost by that woman Mu Jin. This is unforgivable!!!
Huh? Aren't these Wu Xie and the others? They don't recognize me?
Aaaaaah...
There's no helping it. These three are the only ones I know. If I want to stay by their side, I'll just have to force myself to devour some strange things.
But they taste so awful!
Story Nine:
Hello, everyone. Let me introduce myself. My name is Qing Fu.
That's right, Qing Fu, as in the proverb about Qing Fu returning money. I'm also the Qing Fu who was dealt with by Bai Haotian in Restart.
To put it more plainly, I'm the human-skin figurine Wu Xie brought out of the Tomb of the South Sea King.
There, plain enough?
As a Qing Fu who once showed Wu Xie the way and was carried on his back,
Am I proud? Am I pleased with myself? Have I gotten carried away?
No!
Not only am I not proud, pleased with myself, or carried away, I'm trembling with fear.
I have no hands, and I'm leaning against a cold, damp wall. Filthy water comes up to my chest, soaking my lower half. The drainage channel is full of my kind, though not quite.
Because I'm not an original. I cut in halfway through.
Waaaaah... Mom, help me!
Right now, I'm weak, helpless, and desperate.
Having read Restart, I know exactly that I don't get much time on page. In particular, after Wu Xie sneaks me out of the tomb, I end up dead, and Kan Jian dries me out and takes me back for research.
Aah!
Waaaaah...
How terrifying!
So I made a momentous and difficult decision: to sneak away.
Anyway, this tomb was prepared especially for Wu Xie by his second uncle. It won't stop them getting out just because I've failed at my job. Hehehe.
After making my decision, I felt great. Whatever happens in the end, at least I'm safe for now.
To stay alive, charge!
Step one of my escape: get out of the drainage level.
As a Qing Fu, I can grow hands myself. In other words, I can freely control and adjust my shape.
My fingers are all floppy because there's nothing to support them, but I'm a girl. A girl's hands should feel soft and boneless.
There. I've successfully convinced myself.
All right, time to escape.
I wonder if Wu Xie and the others have come down yet. How far along is the plot? I'm a little nervous...
Reader's guide:
1. I'm not very good at keeping the characters in character, so they may be OOC.
2. Stories 1 through 8 are entirely fictional. Story 9 follows the plot of the unedited novel version of Restart.
3. If the writing makes you uncomfortable, it's the fault of a beginner. If that bothers you, feel free to leave.
4. Some stories subtly ship Ping Xie. Story Six is purely about shipping Ping Xie, so skip it if you don't like that.
5. Most of the stories have a serious tone, and relatively few focus on romance.
6. Each story is independent, except for Stories Seven and Eight. The writing styles also differ somewhat. If you don't like one, you can skip around without affecting your reading experience, except for Stories Seven and Eight.
Theme: None for now
Wait, don't stop here.
Damn it, I don't know what to say
