At sixteen, Xu Li was caught on camera outside Yue Shen's boss's car with Wen Zhiyan, who was about to sign a contract, on New Year's Eve. A misunderstanding made people think she was a trainee newly promoted by Yue Shen Entertainment, and the idol dream she'd long buried in her heart began to sprout.
Trending: Yue Shen Entertainment's new trainee Explosive
Her Weibo, which she'd originally treated like a private social media account and shared with only a few dozen mutual followers, suddenly went viral.
All the comments on her selfie said:
[@Yue Shen Entertainment, this girl is so pure! Either she debuts or I die! Your girl has money, I'll fund her debut!]
So she signed a contract, even though she hadn't planned to debut, and set off for South Korea to make it in the entertainment industry.
With capital suppressing her, Chinese contestants weren't favored. The show tampered with her votes, and despite ranking near the top throughout the early stages, she barely made the debut lineup.
She had no resources, no lyrics, and no screen time. Her fans were furious. Later, it came out that she had originally been set to debut by a landslide, but someone had stolen her place in life.
The group flopped, but she became famous.
Her solo resources divided among the group? An 80-million-yuan contract penalty? That's pocket change. She'd go solo.
After returning to China, she ran into the already-famous Wen Zhiyan at the airport. Fans were transported back to that New Year's Eve before their debut. They expected a storm of rumors about the CP pairing, but instead:
[The siblings have finally reunited. Little sis is so sweet, boohoo!]
They appeared on variety shows together, dominating the top ten trending topics.

The whole internet shipped them as siblings, while the Lychee CP fans happily kept to themselves.
Then they collaborated, with the real stars leading the CP shipping themselves.
After the whole internet had spent ages making a huge fuss about their sibling bond, they announced their relationship.
Rumors claimed Wen Zhiyan was about to leave the entertainment industry.
He responded on livestream: "Retire? Then she'd have to ship a CP with someone else. No way."
Content warning: Lots of comment and chat-barrage scenes. A light, sweet, feel-good entertainment-industry story. The logic isn't very strong, but at least it isn't absurd. The writing isn't great; the focus is on the plot. The author is a student and updates slowly, so you might want to let chapters accumulate before reading.
