Why Has My Emperor Become the Enemy Kingdom's Bewitching Consort?

(The full novel is complete and in the queue for publication...)

Xiao Jue, a seemingly unremarkable young lord of Xiqi, disguises himself as a sickly scholar and infiltrates the crown prince's palace in Beijin as an advisor, hoping to get his hands on the royal family's secret treasure.

He assumes the crown prince will be easy to assist, and that all he has to do is keep his head down until the prince takes the throne.

Who knew this crown prince would be completely nuts?

A few days into his new job, the crown prince stands outside late at night in the northwest wind, points at the sky, and says, “Ziyu, I want the stars. Go pluck them for me right now.”

Xiao Jue smiles politely. “Certainly. Your Highness, can you fly?”

Two months into the job, the crown prince gazes at a map of the splendid realm, sweeps his hand through the air, and declares grandly, “Ziyu, I want to rule the world tomorrow. Kill that old geezer for me, then unite the realm while you're at it.”

Xiao Jue smiles. “Certainly, Your Highness...”

A year into the job, the crown prince loudly announces in front of envoys from other states, “I am delighted that you have traveled thousands of miles to Jin. So, allow me to share some good news: tomorrow is the wedding banquet for me and my Crown Princess, Pei Yu...”

Xiao Jue, who is disguised as Pei Yu: “...”
