Legend has it that people with an intense desire will receive a red Wish Pearl. It is their ticket into a life-for-money game.
In every game, players must help a monster fulfill its wish. Each time a wish is granted, a little more liquid appears inside the Wish Pearl. Once it is full, the player's own wish will come true.
Xie Yingzhu was inexplicably dragged into another dimension. Veteran players explained that the life-for-money game had resonated with his intense desire. But that was impossible. He had a condition that left him without the emotional perception and empathy most people were born with. He felt neither fear nor longing, so he couldn't possibly make a wish.
He had no wish, though if he had to name something that puzzled him, there was this:
His brother had been replaced.
Other people couldn't tell the difference, and the two of them had never been apart, but he just knew.
Still, it didn't matter. He seemed to have found his brother in this game. Xie Yingzhu gently lifted the white bones from the coffin.

The Wish Pearl can grant three minor wishes at the cost of something from the player, helping them get through a crisis in the game:
The first costs a drop of blood.
The second costs a randomly chosen body part.
The third costs one day of the player's lifespan as collateral. If they fail to finish the game within a day, they can't buy it back.
They say someone once paid a drop of blood and drew a small cannon turret, while someone else got a divine drink made from willow branches that could bring the dead back to life.
Looking at the zombie before him, Xie Yingzhu paid a drop of blood for a draw. A battered wooden stick fell out of the Wish Pearl:
[Rotten Stick]: You can probably use it to hit a monster on the head and provoke it. A great tool for drawing aggro.

The bottom's ability is somewhat like a puppeteer's, mixed with paper-cutting art
