What a Coincidence, You're a Mafia Member Too

Next novel: Can Someone Dark and Brooding Win Tomie's Love?

It's been two months since I escaped the Italian organization Passione and moved to Japan to start over as an ordinary high school boy. My dream is to live a peaceful life, so I started dating like the other guys at school.

Bad news: It's an all-boys school.

Good news: I'm dating a guy.

Even better news: He's gorgeous, exactly my type.

I thought I could finally start a perfect high school romance and live the peaceful life I'd always dreamed of. But my boyfriend is a textbook case of a poor little thing. He lives in a shipping container at an abandoned factory, is always wrapped in bandages, and often shows up with injuries ranging from minor to serious. He's also frequently subjected to violent abuse.

Later, I learn the truth about his family: a perverted father, a mother who died young, a spoiled and overbearing little sister, a short-tempered little brother who hits him at the drop of a hat, and him, broken beyond repair.

Most importantly, his perverted father left him an astronomical debt because of his gambling, forcing him to work himself to the bone because the Mafia is after him for repayment.

Me: ...

Me: So I'm actually in a rescue-the-boyfriend story?

Looking at my boyfriend's beautiful face, the kind that makes your heart soften, I grit my teeth.

I can give up on my peaceful life!!!

The first step in saving my boyfriend is to go back to my old line of work and join the Port Mafia, the organization that's been hounding him for his debt. If I can become a high-ranking member and gain a say in things, I can wipe out his debt and teach his perverted dad a harsh lesson, saving him from a life of misery.

But then I discover that his supposedly awful family background is all a lie. Those perverted, cold-blooded family members are clearly members of this very Mafia organization.

I think I need to protect my boyfriend's pure and fragile heart. I can't let him learn this cruel truth or experience how cold the world can be.

No problem.

Then I'll just find a way to destroy the Port Mafia.
