What! My Plants Can Talk

Ji Zhenghao was the kind of kid other people's parents bragged about. He skipped grades all the way through school and became a young doctoral student in plant taxonomy at the age of twenty-four.

During a field sampling trip, he and his team went to a remote mountainous area.

While the others collected samples, Ji Zhenghao noticed an ordinary little grass plant that was on the verge of dying.

Perhaps its surroundings were simply too unsuitable. It didn't look like it would survive much longer.

He wanted to take it back to the lab.

His senior fellow student warned him, "Hurry up and collect samples. Forget about that grass."

But Ji Zhenghao insisted on bringing it back to the lab.

With careful tending, the little plant actually bloomed with purple flowers.

A week later, the little flower suddenly spoke in a gentle female voice: "Thank you for taking care of me."

Ji Zhenghao was in the middle of an experiment and nearly dropped the test tube in his hand.

A week after that, the little flower was gone, and a smiling young woman who loved wearing purple appeared by Ji Zhenghao's side.
