Before Yu Xi left the valley, his elders solemnly warned him, "The outside world is treacherous. Be sure to protect yourself."
He casually agreed, but didn't take it to heart. As a result, he stumbled countless times along the way. Later, he met a cold, handsome young swordsman, and gave him his whole heart.
Everyone said that Fusang was a peerless genius, born with little affection or desire, single-minded and destined to ascend to immortality.
The looks people gave Yu Xi held envy and confusion, but mostly mockery and pity.
Yu Xi had formed from the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. His heart was pure and clear, his feelings sincere and intense. He never cared what others thought, convinced that one day he could warm even a cold, stubborn stone.
No matter how many times he was hurt, he never considered giving up.
Until the day he plunged into the Sea of the Demon Realm for Fusang. He sent the man a message asking for help, but the only reply he received was two words: Don't fuss.
As curt as ever, and full of impatience.
Yu Xi froze for a moment, then suddenly gave a bitter smile. He thought to himself that he really was a fool.
The next moment, demonic energy surged toward him from every direction like towering waves, swallowing his slender figure completely.
It wasn't long before the whole continent knew that something was wrong with Fusang.
He stormed into the Sea of the Demon Realm, then emerged looking utterly bereft. From then on, he searched the world for someone, seeming nearly deranged, pitiful and terrifying all at once.
At last, he found him.
But the man's appearance and manner had changed, and his gaze was utterly unfamiliar.
Fusang's joy turned to bone-deep cold, and a terror that he was about to lose everything welled up inside him.
Facing the unexpected visitor, Yu Xi tilted his head and looked him over with casual indifference. Then a guileless yet cruel smile appeared on his face, now covered in eerie demonic markings.
He patted the enormous feathered serpent coiled beside him and said softly, "Look, little darling. It's Young Master Fusang."
The great serpent hissed.
"Young Master is kind and handsome. He's brought you something to eat!"
The serpent sprang up at once, transforming into a towering shadow that seemed capable of devouring all things. It opened its gaping maw toward Fusang.
Yu Xi's laughter rang through the heavens and earth, bright as a bell. It was a joy Fusang had not heard from him in a long time.
