Lolita

"I hear children laughing. What makes me sad isn't that Lolita isn't here beside me, but that her laughter isn't among theirs."

---------From Lolita, Humbert

Lolita was merely a product of Humbert's consciousness, a fantasy he had wildly imagined and tried to snatch from external reality and time.

---------From Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov

↑ Lolita and Humbert

Don't worry, the ending is strictly one-on-one, though there will be some multiple-partner situations along the way... But I'm very devoted... No, wait, my princess is the devoted one.

Main characters:

Lolita is the dominant personality in a dual-personality system, with mild persecutory delusions. A lack of fatherly love from childhood led to the awakening of her second personality, Humbert, who is really just a phantom born of her fixation. Her persecutory delusions make her long for someone to protect her.

Humbert is the hidden personality in the dual-personality system. Whenever Lolita is hurt, Humbert forcibly emerges to fight back. Lolita's persecutory delusions led to the appearance of this personality. Having grown up without a father's love, Lolita subconsciously sees her hidden personality, Humbert, as her protector. The two interact much like the characters in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, except Humbert has no desire to take over her body. After all, he appeared because Lolita needed protection.

When Lolita recovers from her persecutory delusions and someone truly begins to protect her, Humbert will disappear.

For what the two look like... take a look at the cover. Look at the cover! I wrote Lolita and Humbert's names on it in Gothic lettering.
