Damian Wayne Doesn't Want to Go Back to the Past

After killing his father, who had been infected by the Joker virus, and blowing up the entire Batcave with his last breath, Damian thought he could finally escape this goddamn fate.

But fate could still get a whole lot worse.

A "god" who appeared out of nowhere spouted lofty platitudes and asked him to return to the past to prevent this tragedy.

Damian said, "Go to hell."

But when he opened his eyes again, he had still been thrown back twenty years, to a world where no child named Damian had been born yet. Robin was still Dick Grayson, the amazing boy from the circus and the first to wear the mantle. Alfred was still the all-capable butler who occasionally made a few sarcastic remarks, and Batman was still the no-nonsense vigilante, full of a sense of justice.

Damian: ...

Fine. First, he'd go kill the Joker.

Bruce "Batman" Wayne suddenly had a fifteen-year-old biological son, a child from some god-awful future, already broken, battered, and exhausted by fate.

Batman: ...

Batman looked at Superman, who was completely hands-off with Superboy Conner, and at Superboy, who got along well with the kids in Young Justice. He promptly summoned Robin. "Starting tomorrow, take Damian to Young Justice. Make sure you look after him."

Dick: ?

Damian: ...

Damian folded his arms. "It's fine. I'm used to it, Grayson. He dumped me on you when I was nine, too."

Batman: ...

The timeline converged where it absolutely didn't need to.
