Bai Fenglin is a small-time clinic doctor in the eastern district of Wandering Star, coasting through life. Every day, he either bandages up thugs injured in fights or listens to old men and women fretting over imagined troubles. To him, his life is as still as a stagnant pond, until one day a naked boy, pale as a corpse, appears out of nowhere on the floor of his clinic. Bai Fenglin turns on a light and is instantly subdued by the boy. Only then does the boy manage to open his eyes, blurting out two astonished, uncertain words:
“An angel?!”
Bai Fenglin: “...Buddy, you must be high.”
