A Dream of Liangdu (The Liang Kingdom Arc, a Biography of Regent Hexi Chengyun)

In an era when men were revered and women were inferior, how could an idealistic woman realize her grand ambitions? Would she disguise herself as a man, hide her identity, and make her way through the world of power and profit? Would she pretend to be apathetic and find her own unconventional path? Would she be ruthless and vicious, stopping at nothing to achieve her goals? Or would she take advantage of a ruler's favor, retreating in order to advance from within the land of tenderness? With the same ideals but different approaches, would the vows made back then ever come true? In the second month of spring that year in Jiangnan, she put down the love poems she cherished most, donned men's clothes, and entered the court alone, bearing the hopes of her entire family. From then on, she moved through the game of power behind the mask of a sleazy (?) young lord. A descendant of the former imperial family, she was destined from birth to be a sacrifice because she was a girl. She fought with all her might to glimpse a ray of light, dancing with shackles on her feet. Whose guqin music stirred the young woman's heartstrings? For whom did her delicate hands weave garments? She only wanted to be an embroiderer, far from conflict, but possessing a precious treasure was a crime, and in the end, her whole life was caught in the whirlpool. The solitary smoke rising over the desert was the first color of her life, and the wolves howling in the distance were the first music she ever heard. With a long spear in hand and ambition in her heart, she was the sole heir of the late ruler of Daliang, yet her identity as a woman could only trap her in the mortal world. A dream of Liang's capital was not only a call from her homeland, but also the deepest obsession hidden in their hearts, both the first and the last: I can protect everything I love as a woman. Theme: Some things seem ordinary when we look back on them now, yet they are hard to find anywhere in this world.
