Blurb:
The year Wen Zheng first moved into the Song family home, Song Nanjin went to live in the United States. His parents ran a business overseas, and Wen Zheng was taken in by his aunt. The two barely crossed paths.
Later, Song Nanjin returned to China, and they were forced to live under the same roof.
Wen Zheng knew he was difficult to get along with, so she kept her distance and watched her step.
Only later did she learn that Song Nanjin had been thinking about her for a long time.
The man calmly fastened his cufflinks, his voice gentle and cool. "Wen Zheng, if you hate me, why are you seducing me?"
-
Wen Zheng had always been at a disadvantage around Song Nanjin.
He was her older brother in the Song family, and she never dared to overstep.
Everything changed that day.
In everyone's eyes, the two of them had always minded their own business and stayed out of each other's way. They were still going about their lives as usual. As dusk fell, Wen Zheng happened to meet Song Nanjin in a narrow hallway.
The voices of the others in the family carried in from the living room.
Wen Zheng walked past him, but he quietly caught her finger. "How long are you planning to date him this time? You should break up, Wen Zheng."
On the night she broke up with her boyfriend, they finally laid their cards on the table. Song Nanjin said he wanted to marry her, and Wen Zheng calmly replied that she couldn't move on without a gap between relationships.
The man held a cigarette between his fingers, his tone unruffled.
"I want you. Do you think you still have a choice?"
-
In Wen Zheng's limited worldview, going with the flow was her way of surviving.
Song Nanjin, meanwhile, was the center of everyone's attention, a scion of the powerful and wealthy.
They belonged to different worlds.
Yet through all those lonely, silent years of hers,
he had wanted to become her whole world, someone she could rely on.

Content warnings:
This is a companion story to Deeply Ensnared. I started writing this because I felt the push and pull in the latter part of my previous book wasn't handled well. I borrowed the setting of Deeply Ensnared to write a story on a similar theme, but the plot is different, so it can be read on its own.
At first, this story was just a sudden inspiration to write a possessive romance. Halfway through serialization, I felt some parts weren't working, so I changed the outline and the story. The writing process has been bumpy, and the timeline and details still haven't been polished. Sorry.
Comments are disabled out of habit, not for any other reason. The plot and characters aren't perfect, and some parts may be controversial. If you like this kind of story, feel free to give it a try. If it isn't for you, please click away.
Pirated copies are a mess, and the author takes no responsibility for readers of pirated versions.
Note: The story and setting are entirely made up and have no logic. The background is just a setting, so please don't compare it with real life. Thank you.

Beyond the Boundaries blurb:
During her university years, Qu Yi thought of Zhou Siwei as famous, distant, and difficult to get along with.
Back then, he was the heir to a venture capital group, and she had little to do with him.
Later, after she started working, Zhou Siwei became her client for risk assessment, and they began to interact more often.
She was dating Lu Yu, Zhou Siwei's college roommate. He was now the real power broker in the business world.
She and Zhou Siwei were merely business acquaintances who exchanged polite nods.
There was no reason to expect her life to be anything but smooth and steady.
Until one day, Lu Yu got drunk at a dinner party and called her to pick him up. Qu Yi thought someone had already helped him into a car. In the drizzle, she closed her umbrella and opened the door of a black Lincoln.
Zhou Siwei was sitting in the back seat.
She froze. "Sorry."
Zhou Siwei glanced up at her, his voice even. "Lu Yu's over there."
Qu Yi nodded and was about to get out when he spoke behind her.
"Should I tell him that last time, I was the one who took you home?"
-
Qu Yi had always assumed she would marry Lu Yu.
Their relationship was steady, their feelings secure. They seemed like the model couple on the way to marriage.
Until their relationship grew precarious and they began to disagree.
At last, Qu Yi asked, "Mr. Zhou, we're just business partners."
Zhou Siwei looked at her. "For now. That may not always be the case."
"I'm getting married."
"Yes. Does he know we've kissed?"
Beyond the boundaries, amid the rising tide.
They kept the distance they were supposed to, yet always felt as if they were drowning in an undercurrent.
Zhou Siwei had always wanted to "steal" Qu Yi away, but there had never been the right "opportunity."
Qu Yi would never know that someone had been watching her all along, through the parts of her life she had never noticed. Quietly, secretly.
Zhou Siwei had waited for her for far more than seven years.
The silence after a blizzard is like an empty world.
When darkness falls, who will be the last light left?
