But someone spots this usually refined young master, so bright and elegant, clinging to a man and refusing to let go.

"Brother Fugui, didn't you say you only liked me? Who is she?" the young master cries, his face flushed red with anger.

The man beside him is dumbstruck. "Y-You are...?"

The neighbors joke that only the most fearsome executioner in Yunjing could be a match for the butcher's daughter who is best at slaughtering pigs. But then they see her carrying the elegant top scorer from the lane up ahead through the snow and rain, never faltering.

The "butcher's daughter" arches a brow with a smile, an unusual tenderness on her face. "Be careful of the brocade clothes I weave. This is the fifth one you've snagged this month."

The "top scorer" looks impatient, with none of his usual refinement. He pouts and reaches out to shield her from the wind and snow. "Next time. I'll be more careful next time."
