Stealing a Kiss from the Little Moon

At eighteen, Xu Yueliang came to the city from the mountains. With only a middle school education and little knowledge of the world, she was harassed at a construction site, then fired by three different families from her housekeeping jobs. On Xu Yueliang's first night in the house, Fu Xinyan barged into her room wearing nothing but a towel around his waist, his toned muscles exposed. He stared straight at her without a hint of impropriety or lewdness and said, "Hungry."

Yueliang began to wonder if she would ever get paid.

Later, Fu Xinyan grew more and more clingy, unable to be away from her for even a minute.

Until one day, Fu Xinyan sat at the dining table and looked at her sadly. "Yueliang, I think I'm sick."

Xu Yueliang's hand trembled as she cooked.

"Whenever I see you, my heart beats faster, my whole body gets hot, and I even ache."

He hugged her from behind, his breath burning hot. "That's what happens on TV, so I thought of you."

"But it seems to hurt even more now."

"Help me, Yueliang."

Yueliang came alive on the page, but there was no moon left in the paintings of the genius artist.

When people asked him about it, he would reply:

"The moon belongs to me alone."

Both are each other's first and only, a short story about healing each other. The hero is high-functioning autistic, and the heroine is a sweet little mute. Neither of them will recover.

The first time Xu Yaoyao saw Qin Hexue was at the gym where her younger brother's basketball team practiced. She had been sent to bring him some clothes and was waiting outside the court.

A huge shadow suddenly fell over her. Xu Yaoyao strained to look up and saw the man's strong jaw and bobbing Adam's apple.

He was two meters tall, broad and muscular, dressed all in black. His face was handsome but fierce, with the imposing air of a gang boss. Xu Yaoyao thought he was probably one of the players' fathers.

As it happened, Qin Hexue looked at the bewildered girl, not even 1.6 meters tall, and thought she must be one of the players' little girlfriends.

Qin Hexue asked, "Who are you here to see?"

Xu Yaoyao pointed at her brother, who was passing the ball. "Xu Yangyang."

That night, Xu Yangyang, a hopelessly clingy little brother, called in tears to complain that the new coach seemed to have it in for him. He kept staring at him with a look that said, "You dare steal my wife?"

The first time they ate together, Qin Hexue's scowl scared Xu Yaoyao into silence.

Meanwhile, Qin Hexue was thinking: She's so cute. I want to kiss her to death. Would kissing her on our first meal together be too soon?
