After becoming friends with him, Peter manages to collect:

A local billionaire who waits like a spider for its prey, with a donut in one hand and a burger in the other ×1

A big-hearted sweetheart who just woke up and knows nothing about the modern world ×1

A future sorcerer who'll be super cool one day, but is currently a down-and-out doctor ×1

A mind-reading principal with a huge estate and a squad of bodyguards ×1

An innocent young reporter who intended to conduct an interview but somehow got unmasked ×1

A sexy sweetheart billionaire who makes a grand entrance at a party with his entire family in tow ×1

Even Peter himself becomes a strength-and-speed-balanced Spider-Man after an accident, earning the title "New York's Friendly Neighbor."

"Virgil," Peter asks curiously one afternoon, "what kind of aura do you have that attracts all these superheroes?"

Virgil only smiles. His azure eyes are like a shimmering sea, concealing countless undercurrents beneath their placid surface.

"There are no coincidences in this world, Peter." His gaze shifts to the bustling street outside the skyscraper. "Every coincidence is an inevitable result of extreme deduction."

Such despicable deeds, yet he still dreams of standing beside them, becoming one of the shining stars in the night sky.

What a pitiful, laughable wish.

Hydra never taught him any of this.

"But they never taught you to go alone to the other side of the world and turn the tide before the final barrier of the universe."

The resistance leader, who died and came back to life on the other side of the world, raises his glass. The ice shifts inside, reflecting a soft glow.

"To damnable justice."

Set the wavering flame of the dark night alight before it goes out.
