Interstellar Perfumer

[The protagonist is an incense perfumer, though I'm not sure. I might change her to a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. Either way, it's an old-school, feel-good sci-fi story.]

From the age of three, Yu Niannian studied perfumery under an old man in the isolated village of Dashui. She spent twenty years working hard, and her biggest motivation was the freedom she'd have once she finished her training: she could go online whenever she wanted and play the game that had been popular in her village for twenty years, Spider Solitaire.

But just after she finally passed her examination and graduated, she inexplicably transmigrated to the interstellar era, becoming a standard-issue interstellar elementary school student.

Yu Niannian: “???”

The good news: The interstellar internet industry is hugely advanced, entertainment has undergone a complete upgrade, and there are tens of millions of games to choose from. Online games have even evolved into fully immersive versions. It's a dream come true for an internet-addicted girl!

The bad news: The interstellar world strictly limits how long minors can spend online. Yu Niannian can only go online for half an hour a day, and she'll have to live like this for another ten years.

Yu Niannian: “!!!”

There's no way she can put up with this!

Luckily, she discovers that perfumery seems to have a bright future in the interstellar era. A single stick of cheap, low-grade incense can be traded for the latest gaming console, one that doesn't need an internet connection and has no time limits.

Yu Niannian: “!!”

Now that's a job worth doing!

The interstellar version:

Humanity has long suffered from mental instability due to attacks by alien beasts. Only healers can soothe these outbreaks.

But healers are one in a hundred thousand. Countless people struggle desperately to find one, only to come up empty-handed.

Then one day, an incense called “Chasing the Sun” appears. To everyone's surprise, burning it can soothe mental instability without discrimination.

The entire interstellar world erupts!
