Zhaozhao Knows My Heart

1.

In high school, everyone who knew Cheng Zhiyi said his name sounded gentle and dependable, but in reality he was nothing but a pretty face, ill-tempered and arrogant.

What they didn't know was that while Cheng Zhiyi might be anything but ordinary, he was certainly confident.

Cheng Zhiyi realized that Lin Zhaozhao, a new transfer student, was a very strange person.

She seemed to have fallen for him at first sight.

Whenever he skipped class to play basketball, he could glance over and see Lin Zhaozhao staring blankly at him.

When he accidentally lost his student ID and searched everywhere for it, he found that Lin Zhaozhao had secretly tucked it into her pocket.

Even when he was at his most wretched, Lin Zhaozhao would rush over to shield him and call the police for him.

So Lin Zhaozhao really did like him that much. She was willing to risk anything for him.

Watching Lin Zhaozhao sit primly in front of him, listening to class with a serious expression, Cheng Zhiyi thought that if it was her, maybe dating in high school wouldn't be so bad.

In high school, Lin Zhaozhao had been the top student at No. 1 High School ever since the first day she transferred there.

Everyone said she was sweet and quiet, but no one knew the little secret she kept: she was severely nearsighted, and without her glasses, she could barely see a thing.

Once, she hurried to deliver some class materials for a teacher, and her contact lens fell out. She stood on the track, gazing at the blurry basketball court and spacing out in secret.

One day, on her way home from school, she found a student ID. Since she wasn't wearing her glasses and couldn't read the name, she put it in her pocket to return the next day.

But she really did see Cheng Zhiyi at his most wretched. The handsome boy was being shoved against a wall. He looked at her, his eyes gleaming with defiant light.

As if possessed, she summoned the courage to step in front of him.

She just had a feeling that the boy before her had something wrong with his head.

It wasn't until much later that Cheng Zhiyi realized

he had been the one to fall first.

But as long as he ended up with her, what did it matter who fell first?
