The Poor Little One Is the Emperor's Ancestress

Xiang Wantang, the empress, personally went to battle and died defending the border, leaving behind only one son in the capital.

As she died, all she thought was: At least the battle is going well. We've already gained the upper hand.

Who could have imagined she would wake up again, having become the adopted daughter given to the current emperor as a good-luck bride? She was a princess in name only, unrelated to him by blood, and someone everyone could bully. When she asked around, she learned that hundreds of years had passed. Her name was already in the history books, praised as the founding dynasty's Goddess of War. The current emperor was her descendant, and it went without saying that he deeply revered his ancestor.

But the original owner of this body had suffered. Burdened with a title that wasn't hers, she had reined in her nature and lived in constant fear, with her life in danger at every turn.

Xiang Wantang looked at these descendants in disappointment, then gazed at the scheming court and the chaotic imperial palace and let out a long sigh:

...How did things turn out like this in this generation?

Then she quietly stepped in.

No one had expected that the little princess they scorned would turn out to be the very Goddess of War Empress they revered.

The concubines who had oppressed Xiang Wantang and the princes who had teased her were filled with regret. ...Is it too late to get on our knees now?

They say that the wild princess raised in the imperial palace seemed to become a different person overnight, and even the emperor treated her with deference.

Everyone else: His Majesty must be head over heels for the girl. Is he going to take her into the harem once she's old enough?

The emperor, aghast: Don't say such things! I respect her!

*The early story focuses on her career. The male lead isn't mentioned in the blurb.
