[Touken Ranbu] Wild Fox

Regret came far too suddenly. He had only wanted to stay by her side until they were old, but everything came to an abrupt end just as the flowers were in full bloom.

In the land of Wa, there was a fox of great renown.

It was summoned into the palace, to attend the orchid.

The orchid was beautiful, and he yearned for it day and night.

He sought it again and again, and at last found it. How fortunate he was.

Mayflies die easily, and morning dew soon fades.

He loved the orchid, but not even three autumns had passed.

The fox grieved, for she could never live again.

They wrapped themselves in silk and shared a pillow, dreaming of yellow millet.

Born within the palace walls, returned to the dust.
