The Useless S-Rank Is a High-Risk Destruction Type [Wasteland]

[Chapters in reserve]

Xuan Mingran transmigrates to a wasteland world.

Good news: She awakens the strongest S-rank destruction-type ability.

Bad news: Her ability is so powerful that using it might make her explode on the spot, and even under normal circumstances, she has to absorb life force to sustain herself.

Because the side effects of her ability are so severe, Xuan Mingran gives up and decides to be a lazy couch potato. She becomes the base's notorious useless S-rank, yet still has to worry about finding enough life force to absorb every day.

Eating people is out of the question, so Xuan Mingran has no choice but to grow vegetables and eat those instead.

After eating nothing but Chinese chives for a whole month, she can finally take it no more. Every night, she sneaks out of the base to devour low-contamination mutants, and takes out a few high-contamination ones that get in her way along the way.

Green Sparrow Base is one of the ten major human survivor bases, home to many high-level ability users.

One day, a monitor notices that the number of mutants near the base is dwindling, while the contamination levels keep rising.

Word gets around that a high-risk contaminant is about to attack Green Sparrow Base.

The base immediately joins forces with the other nine bases, assembling over a dozen S-rank ability users and more than a hundred A-rank ability users to hunt down the high-risk contaminant hiding in the shadows.

The ability users lay a tight, inescapable net, but the high-risk contaminant never appears. Just as they think they'll have to return empty-handed, a horde of S-rank, highly contaminated creatures charges toward them!

Everyone braces for a fight, when suddenly someone shouts, "Why are you running? Why are you running? Weren't you the ones who planned to rob me first?"

Then they see the useless S-rank from Green Sparrow Base, infamous for doing nothing all day, charging after them with a rusty hoe.

The scene falls silent for a moment.

Xuan Mingran and the ability users stare at each other.
