[Ultraman] Once in a Lifetime

Once, Sasahara Soranaki was so desperately hungry to keep living.

At least back then, she resisted that damn predetermined fate, determined without hesitation to live on as the individual human being called Sasahara Soranaki.

And so, the present came to be. Because all she sought was life, she fought desperately to stay alive.

"Do I really have to do this?"

A pointless question, asked again and again.

"Of course I do. No matter what, it has to be done. After all, wasn't I the one who'd been looking forward to this?"

The obvious answer and conclusion.

"What do you think you've been living for all this time?"

Silence. Not a word in reply.

Even when something has already been decided, it's impossible to make up your mind without asking yourself a few more times.

Sasahara Soranaki looked back with a bitter smile at the figures chasing after her with all their might, and let out a long sigh.

I wish there had never been a me.

She had thought this countless times.

Character profile:

In her previous life, she was Kuon, a monster said to embody countless malicious intentions, known as the Black Sun.

Anyone touched by the virus she spread would lose control and go mad. She was interwoven with the evil spirits, bearing ancient sorrow, regret, and resentment.

This resentment was like a nightmare haunting every living being in the world...

Wherever she went, nothing grew.

Through the efforts of those bound to her by fate, a tiny concept of goodness was bestowed upon her during her sealing. Reincarnation then split her into two.

Kuon, Soranaki.

All things perish. All things vanish.

Soranaki can mean both Kuon and Soranaki.
