I Pretended to Be a Green Tea, but Picked the Wrong Target

Shen Yuqing, a band's guitarist, transmigrates into a novel as a universally hated, scheming green-tea villain and gets bound to a System.

The original character is in a little-known boy band, one that's barely ranked. He's so obnoxious and mean that he manages to antagonize everyone, from fans to bandmates.

On top of that, the original character has someone he loves, and Shen Yuqing's mission is to keep up his green-tea act in front of them.

So Shen Yuqing asks, "Who does the original character love?"

The System answers without hesitation: [The male lead of this story, Qi Yin, the head of the Qi family.]

Shen Yuqing doesn't question it and diligently gets into character.

At the Qi family's birthday celebration, he holds out the first slice of cake and gazes earnestly at Qi Yin. "Here."

On a variety show, when someone else wants to team up with Qi Yin, he shakes his head with a show of understanding. "It's okay. I can manage by myself."

When he sees another green-tea boy offering Qi Yin dessert, he snatches it away and says considerately, "You didn't know he doesn't like sweets?"

Qi Yin is handsome and rich, but as cold as an iceberg. He either turns Shen Yuqing down impatiently or gives him the cold shoulder.

Despite that, Shen Yuqing notices something strange.

Whenever the novel's second male lead is around, there's a hint of cold darkness in Qi Yin's eyes.

At the same time, the System appears in a panic: [Host, I got it wrong. The original character loves the second male lead!]

Shen Yuqing, who's already acted through most of the plot: "You're telling me this now?!"

To salvage the situation, Shen Yuqing immediately turns to the second male lead and awkwardly starts avoiding Qi Yin.

But just a few days later, Qi Yin comes looking for him and drags him out.

The man, usually so calm and composed, grips Shen Yuqing's chin from above. His brows and eyes are full of barely suppressed fury, his expression dark. "Do you like him or me?"

After transmigrating into a book, Shen Yuqing becomes a guitarist in a boy band, thrown together as an afterthought.

The fans stick to one principle: When are we kicking Shen Yuqing out of EveTime? :-)

Shen Yuqing has no plans to clear his name. He just posts clips of himself playing guitar and occasionally steps in to save a performance, then somehow becomes a huge hit.

A few things to know before reading:

The top is eight years older than the bottom. The bottom has a slight everyone-loves-him quality, and the top's feelings are extremely obvious.

This isn't a boy band novel or a leveling-up power fantasy. It's just a love story about the couple.

The author's brain is at an elementary school level. All the logic and settings serve the plot.
