[Mutual Pining] [Redemption]
Ruan Xing debuted at eighteen, then was shelved by her agency. For half her life, nobody paid her any attention.
She worked diligently, but ended up broke, unemployed, and single.
Watching everyone else bask in adoration onstage, her last remaining hope became simply to live in peace.
Then she met a man willing to support her.
He was handsome and distant, and lavish with money, but a little clueless about romance.
Always impeccably dressed, he stood quietly by the floor-to-ceiling windows, leaving her with nothing but his tall, slender silhouette. His eyes betrayed no emotion.
The god who had taken pity on her looked at her no differently than he looked at the other performers.
An entire galaxy lay between them. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get close. He could never love her. Perhaps she should have let go of her secret feelings the moment she learned he was engaged.
At the wrap party, she became famous overnight, then stumbled home drunk.
Ruan Xing didn't notice anyone in her living room.
But she did see him walk toward her and wrap her in his oversized coat, his warm breath lingering faintly around her.
It was as if only at this moment did the cold, restrained man in her memories suddenly become gentle. His refined features remained as composed as ever as he patiently helped her drink some water, then soothed her to sleep.
She didn't realize that he had only just stubbed out his cigarette. He had stood alone by the window in the cold until midnight, seemingly waiting for her to come home.

The moon beneath the sea is the moon in the sky; the person before me is the one in my heart.
For the dreams and youth we once had.
