Before Dumping the Long-Aotian Hero

Xia Xi transmigrates into a male-oriented cultivation novel where the protagonist grows stronger with every level, becoming the vain female side character who breaks off her engagement to the proud Dragon protagonist.

Because his engagement was broken off, the protagonist is repeatedly humiliated. Hungry for revenge, he grits his teeth and swallows his blood, climbing ever higher with nothing but a sword in his hand. He goes from someone everyone can bully to the greatest swordsman in the world, then ascends to immortality and gets his happy ending.

As the side character who breaks off the proud Dragon protagonist's engagement, she is destined to have her cultivation crippled, become a slave to the demons, and ultimately die disfigured, her heart cut out and her body left unburied.

Looking at the battered young proud Dragon protagonist before her, just about to lower his head and apologize, she tears up the marriage contract. In full view of everyone, she holds out a sword to the boy sprawled on the ground:

"Get up. Draw your sword."

"No one here is worth kneeling to."

Pei Chaoxing was a lonely ghost who had sunk into the abyss. He had knelt and begged for mercy, surrendering his pride and dignity just to cling to a sliver of hope. As his soul was about to be destroyed and he stood on the brink of despair, the haughty girl who had always found fault with him held him up with her slender, straight back and said just one thing:

Get up. Draw your sword.

From a worthless nobody wallowing in the mud to the greatest sword cultivator, from unknown to renowned across the four seas, the girl was always by his side.

He thought they would be together forever.

At last, they met again at a grand gathering of the three realms. When Pei Chaoxing saw someone else standing beside her, he finally understood that he had never once appeared in her eyes.

That night, he knelt before her, leaning into the warmth of her palm. His voice trembled until it was barely audible:

"...Don't throw me away."

I haven't tagged this as a strong female lead or a powerful heroine story. She's a chaotic neutral person whose attitude keeps swinging back and forth. She has plenty of demands for the male lead, and he loves it that way. One is willing to hit, the other is willing to take it (important!).

A story about picking up a dog (not really), with lots of original worldbuilding, a silly cultivation tale, and plainspoken writing. I'm trying to write my first romance story (if I can).
