Who Wants to Meet You at the Summit?

When Heidi was five, her dream was to work as a waitress in a restaurant, earning five cents an hour, and maybe even bringing in a nice tip.

When Heidi was ten, she wanted to be a maid for a wealthy family, with room and board included. Maybe she would even find a kind family to work for.

After that, all she wanted was to study. She wanted to rise above everyone else and leave the little alley where she lived behind.

Matthew had always been a cheerful American soldier, reckless as could be, but somehow impossible to kill.

Ever since he had crushed his classmates both mentally and physically, he had been in a thoroughly depressed state.

Then one day, he saw a stunning figure, and fell in love with Heidi at first sight. He never hit back or talked back, no matter what she did.

Decades later, her literary works had become bestsellers around the world, and he had been by her side every step of the way.

1. A semi-alternate setting in the United States in the early 20th century, before World War II. The heroine was born around 1910.

2. The hero appears later in the story. He's a working man, literally (lol).

3. The author's writing could use some work.

4. You might not be able to tell from the blurb, but the hero and heroine may have questionable values. That doesn't mean the author's values are questionable.

5. Please show lots of support!

Theme: The idea that reading can change your fate is true.
