Marrying the God of War While He's Weak

Lin Yu's cousin, who had been promised to her, turned around and married a princess instead.

To keep Lin Yu out of the princess's sight,

her family decided to send her to a nunnery, where she'd spend her days beside a Buddhist lamp.

Lin Yu knew they planned to set the nunnery on fire and eliminate her as a threat for good.

Just then,

the famed God of War was gravely wounded, and the imperial physician said he would never wake again.

Holding the God of War's token, Lin Yu arrived in tears at his bedside. She even threatened to die for love. Her devotion moved everyone, and in the end, Lin Yu and the God of War were married.

No one expected that the God of War would ever wake up.

The God of War, suddenly saddled with a lovely wife: ?

Lin Yu, happily preparing to enjoy life as a widow in all but name: ???

Lin Yu quietly packed a small bundle and prepared to flee in the middle of the night.

But before she could even leave the room, the God of War pinned her down.

"Don't get physical! We can always get a divorce!" Lin Yu clung to his arm, desperately hinting, "I have money. We can split it... forty-sixty?"

The God of War gave her a half-smile. "I hear my princess consort is devoted to me, to the point of wanting to die for me. With such deep affection, how could I bear to divorce you?"

Lin Yu: ... QAQ

No one knew that she was the gorgeous peony he had coveted for years.

Now that fate had placed her in his hands, he would never let her go.

-

Her cousin had thought Lin Yu would obediently wait for him at the nunnery,

so that once he had seized power, he could marry her in grand style.

He never expected that in the blink of an eye, Lin Yu would become the God of War's princess consort.

Her cousin was heartbroken and consumed with regret, so much so that he spat up blood.

He stopped Lin Yu's carriage and reached out, calling her name.

The curtain lifted, revealing Lin Yu nestled in the God of War's arms.

The man's gaze was sharp. With a single move, he broke the hand reaching for Lin Yu.

His voice was icy: "You should address my princess consort as your aunt."
