A non-typical Bourbon in the real world, plus a more serious take on Mr. Furuya (not decided yet, but probably no pairing. What can I say? The lovers end up as "brothers"?).
Bourbon, an ordinary citizen just passing through, becomes obsessed with the popular character "Mr. Furuya" from a manga.
His looks are so similar that he doesn't even need makeup to cosplay.
Through a series of coincidences, he meets a fellow fan who's talented in all sorts of ways.
As they grow closer, the two decide to meet in person.
Bourbon is holding a Furuya bear in one hand and the doujinshi he just bought at the convention in the other. He's wearing a Furuya-themed shirt and carrying a bag covered in badges.
Then he gets targeted by a criminal.
After chasing each other around, Bourbon gets cornered in a dead end.
Bourbon: What are you doing? Are you trying to steal my limited-edition Furuya merch?!
Bourbon solemnly sends one last text to his friend, only for the criminal's phone to ring.
Bourbon: ?
Mr. Furuya thinks he's in an online relationship with someone kind and gentle. The person is a little too intense about their fandom, but Mr. Furuya doesn't think that's a big deal.
Until one day, while gathering intelligence, he sees his own face printed on someone's shirt.
He takes another look at the person wearing it.
Mr. Furuya is utterly stunned.
After cornering the person in a dead end, Mr. Furuya sees them typing on their phone as if sending a text. Then his own phone rings: a message has arrived from his "online partner."
The two stare at each other.
Mr. Furuya: ?
