The Qing Dynasty: Consort Tong

Through a twist of fate, Tong Yanqiu transmigrates into Consort Tong.

She is the birth mother of Kangxi, the emperor who will be remembered for ages, and her husband, Shunzhi, is about to become a monk.

She has just entered the palace. Shunzhi is currently at loggerheads with the Empress Dowager over his beloved Dong E.

The Empress Dowager is eager to find a beauty who can distract her son and take some of his favor, and she picks Tong Yanqiu at first sight.

How can Tong Yanqiu, who has already returned her elementary school Chinese textbooks to her teacher and can't even recite a single poem, possibly compete with the sweet, innocent Dong E, who can discuss poetry and painting with Shunzhi and gaze at the stars with him?

Fortunately, she's already transmigrated, and she's not foolish enough to fight for the emperor's true love. Instead, she treats Shunzhi and Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang as her bosses, and the imperial harem as a workplace.

As a seasoned office worker, she is skilled at the whole repertoire of workplace survival tactics: flattery, bootlicking, adapting to the situation, passive aggression, and shifting the blame at a moment's notice.

As long as she successfully gives birth to a son, she can secure the deputy general manager position for good. Who cares who the top boss is?
