Because of her parents' suffocating affection, Gu Zheng finally couldn't take it anymore at the age of thirty-one. She jumped from a rooftop, ending her short life.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself back in the year she had just started high school. Familiar people, familiar scenery, and Jiang Shao, the childhood friend she had missed out on for an entire lifetime.

From that moment on, Gu Zheng quietly decided that in this life, she would no longer be the good girl her parents wanted. She would do what she wanted and fulfill the dream her parents had once stifled in its cradle.

From then on, Gu Zheng's wild new approach to life was here to stay. Jiang Shao, her childhood friend, found himself caught in a daily life that was both painful and delightful.

For example, at the new students' sports meet.

Gu Zheng got distracted for a moment, and the supplies meant for her class's competitors were taken away. In a panic, she handed over her precious Wahaha, which she had treasured for years.

A classmate who took a good look at the date warned her, "Gu Zheng, isn't this expired?"

Gu Zheng: "It should be fine, right? It's been sitting at home for years. I couldn't bear to drink it. If he weren't my childhood friend, I wouldn't have brought it here."

Classmate: "B-but it's been expired for two years..."

Gu Zheng: "..."

And so, during the 200-meter race, everyone watched as Jiang Shao, who was in first place, made it halfway before running toward the restroom at the speed of wind.

From that day on, Jiang Shao refused to eat anything Gu Zheng handed him, no matter what.

Later, thinking that she had missed her chance in her previous life and had to seize it in this one, Gu Zheng asked the question she had never managed to voice before, one afternoon while they were on cleaning duty.

Gu Zheng: "Jiang Bae, can I ask you something? What kind of girl do you like?"

Jiang Shao answered with his head lowered: "I love Huanggang and the Three Years of Mock Exams and Five Years of College Entrance Exams more."

Gu Zheng: "Come on, tell me! What about me?"

Jiang Shao: "Not really. I don't like tomboys who don't know personal boundaries."

Gu Zheng: "What's wrong with tomboys? Let's give it a try, Jiang Bae!"

Jiang Shao immediately looked up. "Okay."
