But the One Who Fell from the Sky Is Pretty Great

Lin Luo has worried himself sick over his childhood friend, Zhao Xiaoran, ever since they were little.

He has kept admirers away from Zhao Xiaoran, served as Zhao Xiaoran's emergency piggy bank, taken the blame and accepted punishment for him, and gotten drunk with him after a breakup before cleaning up the mess.

But Zhao Xiaoran isn't into men.

All Lin Luo can do is hold his lonely, desolate heart close and cling to his place as Zhao Xiaoran's childhood friend.

Until one day, he gets hurt, and Zhao Xiaoran stands him up for the 1,001st time.

Then Zhou Yan comes over, tends to his wounds, and stays with him through the long night.

Zhou Yan is one of those people who would shine even in a crowd, a heaven-blessed man with an elegant bearing, a clear smile, relaxed poise, and a gentle way with words. Countless admirers buzz around him, but he remains gracious and keeps them at a distance.

Except with Lin Luo, he is different.

He stays up all night working alongside Lin Luo, then makes him breakfast. When Lin Luo is cleaning up after Zhao Xiaoran, Zhou Yan pulls him out of the storm. He gives up his clean, tidy bedroom to look after Lin Luo, who spent the whole night in the rain because of Zhao Xiaoran.

On Lin Luo's birthday, he keeps him company while they wait for Zhao Xiaoran, who never shows up. On his own birthday, he makes a wish: "I hope all of Luo Luo's wishes come true."

After Zhou Yan appears, Zhao Xiaoran's attitude changes.

He starts replying to Lin Luo's messages immediately, keeping tabs on him, and even suggests that they move in together.

When Lin Luo says no, Zhao Xiaoran gets angry.

He corners Lin Luo. "Zhou Yan isn't a good person. He's after something from you. You can't be with him."

Lin Luo smiles and says, "But I think he's the best."
