Burying Jade

1.

Xie Xiuyu had been frail and sickly since childhood, plagued by countless illnesses. Then, when she was seven, on a rainy, overcast day, she burned with a high fever, and her parents held a ceremony to enter her into a spiritual bond with someone else.

She gained new parents, who protected her and kept her healthy, driving away all her illnesses.

From then on, she gradually grew stronger. Her godparents never asked for anything in return, quietly listening to her wishes and requests every year.

That is, until she was about to marry and the bond had to be dissolved.

To dissolve the bond, she had to bow three times and kowtow nine times. She lifted her eyes toward the one she was bowing to: her godparents.

They were a stone.

A tribulation was fated for her. The master she had chosen at first sight was already prepared to discard her when he went to choose a piece of jade.

After countless twists and turns, she was still bound by a contract to jade.

3.

He was cold and aloof. The moment he chose a piece of jade, the chance to abandon it had already arisen.

Beneath the soil, in the muddy dampness, lay the place where the jade was buried.
