Synopsis

Gu Yuting's car was caught in a landslide on the highway, and he came within a hair's breadth of dying in the wilderness.

Luckily, Yu Shu saved his life, and he made it back alive. Grateful for the favor, Gu Yuting brought Yu Shu home with him.

Yu Shu had lived in the mountains since childhood, cut off from the world. He knew nothing about social customs or how the world worked.

That was all right. Gu Yuting could teach him, little by little.

Before long, rumors were flying around town:

The shipping magnate Gu Yuting had a young boyfriend by his side.

He was doting on him like a man whose old flame had reignited.

He tore down two school buildings to get him into the best private high school.

He spent a fortune at auctions, buying every famous painting and antique his little boyfriend had his eye on.

He gave him villas, yachts, and islands, and bought him buildings, shops, and luxury cars.

The custom-built, top-of-the-line car was wrecked after a single day. No problem, he ordered another one exactly like it.

The boy quit high school after a couple of days. Gu Yuting didn't say a word,

and simply signed the withdrawal papers.

High society was green with envy. If only they'd known! So this was Gu's type!

An innocent, carefree, unpretentious, adorably clueless beauty. Who couldn't play that part?

Yu Shu had grown up carefree, with no one to rein him in. By eighteen,

the wind itself seemed to live in his eyes.

Gu Yuting brought him back to the human world, and he went wild with all the fun!

As for the spiritual qi revival, the Four Spirits, cultivation,

and the idea that great power meant great responsibility,

they all came rushing over, clamoring and begging me to return to my rightful place.

Yu Shu clutched his Gu Chairman close and smiled brightly:

Life is a wilderness, not a track. Who says it has to mean anything?

It's meant to be spent extravagantly, of course!

Reader's Guide:

1. The top: Gu Yuting. The bottom: Yu Shu.

2. To preserve the bottom's mystery early on, much of his background is revealed from the top's perspective.

Please add my next historical danmei novel, The Male Empress, to your reading list.

The Cui clan of Hedong has produced beauties for generations, many of whom became empresses.

But in the reign of Emperor Wu, one of them became a male empress.

I gave my heart to the bright moon, but curse that moon: it shines on everyone but me.

Theme: If you don't place limits on yourself, nothing can hold back your potential.

Full-Purchase Recommendations for Omnivorous Readers 2.0 (WIP)

I’ll read anything as long as the writing is decent. Some of these are from a long time ago. Slowly updating this list.

A Record of What I’ve Read Lately [For Personal Use]

I read all sorts of things and do a lot of complaining. I only move things here if they match my tastes. Not for the faint-hearted.

Personal Reading List

I’m both a fan and a shipper of the female lead, but at heart I’m just a pure voyeur, and I refuse to put down her partner. I don’t read toxic, groveling romances. Aside from promiscuous tops and tops who aren’t sexually exclusive, I’m pretty much fine with anything.

A Delicious Mixed Bag

Personally, these are delicious reads I'd rate 4–5 stars. A real hodgepodge of styles. P.S. I'm here for the couples, but if we're being strict, I lean toward bottoms. Proceed with caution.

So Good, Worth Rereading Again and Again

I love stories with mutual affection, strong leads, humor, and ensemble casts. Some are so good I’ve reread them over and over.

Saving Books I Like! Warm and Cool Edition

I’m a switch who leans toward bottoming: dark, brooding tops × sunshine bottoms; loyal-dog tops and aloof-cat bottoms; handsome tops and beautiful bottoms. I read both handsome-top/beautiful-bottom and beautiful-top/beautiful-bottom pairings. I love sweet stories and power fantasies.

Fully Completed Series

I'm an omnivore with no particular preferences. I can't handle awkward writing or really over-the-top melodrama. My priorities are writing > characterization ≥ plot. Feel free to recommend books in the comments.
