The Imperial Tutor Is Carrying My Child

[Younger partner, raised from childhood, eight-year age gap, includes childbirth]

Everyone in the palace knows that the young Crown Prince, Yong Jin, was born noble and raised spoiled, growing into someone who fears nothing. He even dares to pull his emperor father's beard, yet he feels both resentment and fear toward Wen Qingji, the Crown Prince's tutor.

Having overheard palace attendants whispering about him, Yong Jin feels deeply humiliated and immediately protests aloud: "Nonsense! How could I, the Crown Prince of this realm, possibly fear a frail scholar like him?"

But when he turns around, he sees that very "frail scholar" standing nearby, a ruler bestowed by the emperor in his right hand and the essay Yong Jin has just finished in his left. The man tosses out a vulgar remark: "This is utter crap. Rewrite it."

And so the dignified Crown Prince furiously rewrites his essay, then angrily copies several more pages of calligraphy.

Everyone assumes that the first thing the new emperor will do after ascending the throne is send the inconvenient former tutor far away. Wen Qingji himself thinks so, too.

But the new emperor instead offers him a generous appointment as Imperial Tutor. In front of all the ministers, he takes Wen Qingji's hand and says earnestly, "I have great ambitions, but no one can help me understand them as well as you, sir. Please continue to teach me."

Just as Wen Qingji is moved by the thought of dying for someone who understands him, a spiked cup of wine and one night of passion completely change the nature of this teacher-student bond between ruler and subject, one that should have gone down in history.

Worse still, several months later, the imperial physicians diagnose him with... a pregnancy pulse.

For more than ten years after the emperor's marriage, the ministers have never once seen the mysterious beauty said to be the empress.

The empress's position cannot be shaken, and the emperor firmly refuses to take any concubines. So the court and the country alike turn their attention to the young Crown Prince.

Until they are horrified to discover that the Crown Prince, now growing up, is looking more and more like... Imperial Tutor Wen?!
