[Harry Potter] If You Spot a Big Black Dog, DM Me

This is a story about a woman who puts on a secret identity and joins the Ministry of Magic to clear her dog-boyfriend's name. She never expects to rise through the ranks, and after he escapes from prison, she has to find him and, along the way, Avada the noseless, smiling, snake-faced boy.

Antares Lestrange is losing her mind. Her ex-boyfriend, current boyfriend, two cousins, and one cousin's wife are all locked up in Azkaban.

She thinks she must have done something awful in her previous life to end up collecting Azkaban inmates like stamps in this one.

But then something even more maddening happens: they all escape from prison.

So, under a false identity, she embarks on a long journey to find her husband (crossed out), her dog. If anyone sees a big, skinny black dog with a strange glint in its eyes, please send her a private message.

The future Minister for Magic solemnly declares: If you find the big black dog, send me a private message!!

[Bonus Scene]

Antares slams the table in a fury: "Headmaster, five years! Then another five years after that! Do you know what the last ten years have been like for me?! At this rate, I'm going to work my way up to Minister for Magic!"

Dumbledore strokes his grizzled beard and gives a smile that says he's done great things without needing recognition. "That might be for the best. The Ministry of Magic will never meddle in Hogwarts affairs again."

The big black dog sits beside the table, tail wagging enthusiastically, and looks bewildered. "What's going on? My girlfriend's alive, and she's become the Minister for Magic's trusted aide and future successor?"

Then my value's going to skyrocket overnight! Woohoo! (A vivid illustration of the saying, 'A dog is worth more thanks to his girlfriend.')

(Regulus still won't die in this new story. What happened to the three of them when they were children is the same as in [HP Marauders Era] The Law of Rebellion, except that they weren't able to change James and Lily's deaths, and Sirius went to prison.)
