They say Su Nanxing, son of the master of Qian Cao Valley, is gentle by nature. All he likes to do is make medicine, create fragrances, read poetry, and paint. He cherishes moths and pities mayflies, and can't even bring himself to step on an ant.
They say Wu Yi, the living King of Hell beneath the Shiling Palace, makes his living by stoking the wicked thoughts of others and imprisoning their souls. Below his watch lies a sea of blood and the underworld, where ghosts wail grievances and ten thousand souls weep in agony. It defies description.
Yet one day, this King of Hell came to Qian Cao Valley seeking medicine.
That day, when Su Nanxing passed the living King of Hell kneeling outside the valley, he frowned deeply and hurried on. But the valley master called his son over and said, "Go receive him and become his friend."
Su Nanxing was utterly confused and didn't dare disobey his father. He could only say, "Your son is slow-witted. I'm afraid I won't be able to do it."
The valley master said, "Just do your best."
Su Nanxing thought, What does he mean, just do my best? I don't want anything to do with a villain like that, not in this lifetime.
