Your Own Undoing

I'm the pampered young lady in a sweet romance story. My husband holds a high position and is handsome and dashing. We grew up together as childhood sweethearts, and eventually, naturally, we married. Once, everyone in the capital envied us and our storybook romance. But in the blink of an eye, ten years have passed. The pampered girl of the past has become a dull, tedious wife confined to the inner quarters, while the handsome young man of yesteryear has, quite naturally, grown tired of his old love. One of us has taken another lover, while the other has found someone new. But my affair can only happen in secret, hidden from public view, while my husband, whom outsiders praise so highly, openly brings his new lover into the household. The thought fills me with indignation. Thankfully, the gentleman I share my pleasures with is considerate: "I'll be content as long as I can stay by your side, Madam. I don't care about titles or anything like that." What a lovely man, so understanding and thoughtful. But that wretched man can't even tolerate someone so well-behaved. Through gritted teeth, he insists that I must send the entertainer away, or we'll never be able to return to how things were. Wait... who wants things to go back to how they were? 2023-11-5 Theme: Resilient as the wind, always by my side
