The main story of the novel next door, "Don't Run, I'm Your Book!", is currently serializing to rave reviews. This one is just for sharing the setting!

Santu Yongdu is an ordinary Chinese teacher at Teitan High School. One morning, after waking up, he discovers something is wrong with the textbooks he teaches. Many famous works that were previously included have changed. What is going on?!

While he is still baffled, a System comes knocking. It tells him that, due to the resentment of works that were never published in another world, their world has fused with a world of supernatural abilities. The books from that world had hoped the great writers in this one would remember them, but something went wrong, and the works from this world disappeared too.

System: For the sake of high school students' cultural literacy, Host, go get 'em!

Secret identity two: "Schoolgirl"

A sixteen-year-old girl with long, straight black hair and a gentle smile. Sentimental by nature, she both loves the world and loathes it.

"Mr. Dazai, how am I inferior to No Longer Human? Why did you choose him instead of me?"

The girl holds a book whose title, "Rashomon," is just barely visible. With a sad expression, she says, "I'm useful too..."

Dazai Osamu immediately takes her hand and draws her into his arms, gazing deeply into her eyes. "No, you're better than him, much better. If I could choose my ability, I'd choose you instead of him."

Schoolgirl: *shocked eyes* *moved JPG*

No Longer Human: ? Do you have some kind of problem with me?

Santu Yongdu: Wait, why are there so many other weird things besides these? What's "[Unfinished Report]" and "[Criminal Investigation Notes]"?

System: Hahaha... Because of the chaos caused by the worlds fusing, this is totally normal... (nervous JPG)

Santu Yongdu: ?

Santu Yongdu: No, the point is that they can't remember these things, and they can't possibly write them.

System: How about we try a different approach? Beat them up and let the books that never became their abilities vent their anger. Also, I'll leave the task of separating the worlds again to you, Host. Good luck!

Santu Yongdu: Maybe I should just find a way to get Akutagawa Ryunosuke to write a book called "I Am a Dog."
