DC: The Fake 'Superman'

Who is he? He's Luthor's experiment, Luthor's "son," Luthor's plaything. He has powers just like Superman.

He does whatever Luthor tells him. He has never known his true identity, only that he must obey Luthor, until he meets Superman.

The protagonist is a clone of Superman, but because of Luthor's interference, the only thing he shares with Superman is his eyes. He is otherwise different, and unlike Superman, he has no compassion. He can be exceedingly gentle with anyone, but he is never truly gentle. It's all an act.

The protagonist isn't as powerful as Superman, but he has no compassion and no feelings. He'll use anyone if it helps him complete his mission. He never protects others, and if it means succeeding, he doesn't mind using himself, either. He never refuses to kill.

You can picture Superman as Henry Cavill's version and Batman as Pattinson's Batman [don't ask, I just love him]. Set the story a few years after Batman began his career and long after Superman made his debut. The Justice League hasn't been formed, but all the relevant characters are around. The Flash and Green Lantern have just made their debuts [the team members are based on the Justice League from Dawn of Justice]. Luthor is the bald Luthor from Dawn of Justice, thanks. I love him.
