The Big Shot Is a Cat

Xia Ningning, a sophomore, gets a new bounty-hunting assignment. She has to find a powerful demon hiding somewhere on S University campus and win its favor.

Xia Ningning looks at the thousands of stray cats across S University's three campuses. This is going to be hard.

To flush out the big shot, she joins S University's Stray Animal Protection Association and goes around soliciting donations to get every cat on campus spayed or neutered.

After all her reckless antics, one dark and windy night, the demon, transformed into a handsome young man, corners Xia Ningning against a wall. "I hear you've been trying to wipe out my species?"

Xia Ningning trembles. "My lord, I was wrong. Would you like some freeze-dried cat food?"

The big shot narrows his eyes slightly. "Yes."

.

Xia Ningning finally completes her mission. Before heading home for winter break, she leaves the big shot a tin of salmon as a farewell gift.

She likes to see things through, or so Xia Ningning believes.

Who would have guessed that on her very first night home, as she lies in her bedroom on the 27th floor, a cat would calmly push open the window and walk to her bed? Its jade-green eyes gleam with danger. "You think one tin of cat food is enough to get rid of me?"

Xia Ningning: "Then what do you want?"

The big shot elegantly licks his paw. "You."
