The Saint Decides to Rebel [Western Fantasy]

Eulalia was a woman whose peerless beauty and supreme power had been recorded in the annals of history while she was still alive. The moment she was chosen for the temple, the Supreme God declared her a saint, tasked with delivering divine messages. She had never let anyone down, least of all the god she served, until that god ordered her to devote everything to supporting a young man as wretched as a stray dog.

Torment him, humiliate him, make him suffer, then help him, bail him out, and make him great.

Eulalia asked, "Why?"

The god said, "Because this is your purpose. He is the successor I have chosen."

Eulalia asked, "Why can't it be me?"

The god said, "You ask too many questions."

For the first time, the bewildered Eulalia was cast out by the god she served.

But the answer no longer mattered, because she crushed the god's heart and took her seat upon the bloodstained throne.

Eulalia said, "This feels nice."

Basically, the boss wanted to retire and unilaterally promoted a young newcomer to take over, so the dutiful manager who had worked hard for years decided to rebel.
